Podcast #079: Running While Travelling

A series of runners are coming up a wide path up a slight incline, with lots of trees either side. One of them is barefoot.

Welcome to Episode 079 of my “Travel Tales From Beyond The Brochure” podcast.

I’ve been meaning to do a pod specifically about running for a while; it’s something that I mention quite often in my housekeeping and I’ve also tangentially talked about it in smaller sections on pods covering a wider remit. As such, some of what I’ll talk about you’ll have heard before, but I felt it was the right time to cover this topic again now.

Topics discussed include:

  • My purple hair
  • All the ways I’ve been social this month
  • Cross-Country running at my secondary school
  • Why I rarely run when travelling
  • Meeting up with other runners on the move
  • Running clothing and shoes in luggage
  • Travelling the world for marathons
  • A first foreign marathon experience
  • An overview of Parkrun
  • Parkrun Tourism in several forms

You can listen via the feed above, or via Spotify, or on your podcast app of choice. Let me know if it isn’t, by the way, and I’ll see what I can do. In addition, a PDF transcript of this episode is available.

As always, if you have anything to say about the topic, or indeed about my podcasting in general, leave a comment or let me know. I now have a newsletter you can subscribe to, containing extra content, and it’s where I’ll be mentioning future podcast episodes if you want to make your own contribution.

I also now have a Patreon! If you like what you hear, and want to access exclusive content (or just to show your appreciation), then head on over to my page and donate to me!

In addition, here is the blog post Steve Biggs mentioned where he talked to his father about marathons.
