Nottingham, Feb 2014

Pictures taken on a photography workshop (“Shoot the Street”) I went to in February 2014 in Nottingham. The idea being to learn to (be confident to) take pictures in the street, to look for interesting people, to look for interesting angles, and to have fun 🙂

Photographing the photographer! Rinzing Kelsang shooting a street musician (Feb-14).

One of the tasks given to me on the workshop was to do a portrait with a 'negative background' (ie, plain). Pic taken standing at the top of some stairs (of a church!) looking down over a small square.

Another 'low perspective' view. Typical city-dweller, oblivious to the world.

  1. Do you ever worry that the people you’re photographing will take exception to it? (I know I’m not sure I’d be happy about some random person photographing me on the street, to post online…)

    1. Well, that’s why I’m trying to create business cards.

What the photographers running the course said is, if people ask what you’re doing, then you can show them the business card and tell them who you are, what you’re going to use the pictures for, and the cradw ill tell them where they can see examples of my work.

Obviously if someone vehemently objects, then you just say sorry and move on. Their wishes are more important than a good shot.

      🙂
