Hiking & Running
The UK has some wonderful scenery. Some of it is easy to access, like Kinder Scout in the Peak District. Some of it is much more remote, like Ardnamurchan or parts of the Pennines. But across the country, there’s a series of hiking trails to follow, to fully explore the beauty.
I’m really fond of hiking. I think I always have been. Partly I think because I grew up as a walker/runner, and never learned to drive. Also, though, it’s a very simple hobby to do: all you need is to step outside your door.
Hiking can mean anything from a casual stroll on footpaths around a city in an afternoon, to walking the width of the country in two months. From dead railway lines to mountain trails, every step you take is interesting and rewarding.
